Bananas Foster French Toast


The perfect sweet treat to make for a special mom on Mother's Day!

Ingredients:
4 eggs
1/4 cup milk
2 teaspoon vanilla extract - divided
8 slices whole grain bread bread
2 bananas, sliced
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup butter
1 tablespoon dark rum or rum extract - optional
powdered sugar

Crack eggs into medium size shallow bowl, beat lightly with a fork. Add milk and 1 tsp vanilla, stir well.

Moms love flowers, and what better way to show Mom how much you love her than with this wonderful homemade present for Mom on Mother's Day. For the past couple years my kids have made these handprint flower pots for both of their Grandmothers on Mother's Day.

Materials:

A wonderful mommy-and-me class is starting in January for children ages 2 to 3 years old. Moms will have the opportunity to gather in a socially supportive group and talk about all kinds of parenting issues, while children happily play in a small preschool like setting. Parents can relax and talk with other parents knowing that their children are being supervised by a highly qualified staff. Children move fluidly and independently indoors and out. Lunch is provided. Free public star parties are held monthly with the assistance of the Los Angeles Astronomical Society and the Los Angeles Sidewalk Astronomers at the Griffith Observatory from 2:00 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. They are a chance for the whole family to look at the sun, moon, visible planets, and other objects, to try out a variety of telescopes, and to talk to knowledgeable amateur astronomers about the sky and their equipment.

Please be aware that the astronomers and telescope demonstrators must cut off the line for each telescope to enable all viewing to be completed by 9:45 p.m. Hours for telescope operation are not the same as for the building (which closes at 10:00 p.m.).

Brandon's Buddies is a FREE KIDS CLUB that meets every month at Brandon's Village-the first fully-accessible playground in the area. All children with and without disabilities and their families who want to spend a great day playing and making friends are invited to participate!
